Dear Mr. Hoyte:

For some time now, we have been using your Vreeland Direct Reading Spectroscope for qualitative work. As you no doubt recall we are manufacturers of heavy metal soaps and stabilizers for the vinyl industry and the instrument was purchased to identify metals in these products.

This instrument was purchased for three very distinct reasons. The first reason was the ease of operation and minimal training required for personnel to operate it. The second reason was the physical size of the unit since space was at a premium. The third reason was the low capital expenditure required.

Since some of our materials are dusty powders, grinding and packaging equipment is connected to dust collectors and a common air scrubber before atmospheric venting. On occasion, a bag will rupture in a collector and allow excesses of material to reach the scrubbing unit. To prevent shutdown of all operations, it is necessary to identify the dust in the scrubber as quickly as possible. I am pleased to say the Vreeland Spectroscope has performed this work extremely well.

We appreciate this instrument and its capabilities very much.

Very truly yours,

SYNTHETIC PRODUCTS COMPANY
